*Corruption under Akuffo Addo has fought anti- corruption crusaders*
It's not surprising to see corruption fighting back anti-corruption crusaders under Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo. The likes of Martin Amidu and Mr Domelovo can be described as crusaders against Corruption and Corruption related activities.
Whiles in opposition and as opposition leader, he promised to use Anas's principle to fight corruption. His appointment of special prosecutor has reinforce his readiness to tackle the canker to the expectation of all.
Most people have expressed their dissatisfaction about the appointment of the said prosecutor because they felt Akuffo Addo was on a mission of witch- hunting his political opponents through such appointment.
The anti-corruption crusader Martin Amidu resigned in 2020 because he has found out that, president Akuffo Addo is the embodiment of corruption hence a *mother serpent of corruption* as he referred him.
Fast forward, the Auditor General became the next target as he was seen fighting corruption amongst the government officials.
Comrades, we can recall that, Mr Daniel Yaw Demelovo has accused the ministry of finance of dishing out payments to third-party organizations even though no work was executed to warrant such. An amount of 1million US dollars was indeed paid to kroll associates as discovered by the annual report on Public Account of Ghana
as at 31st December 2018.
This became a topical issue as the Auditor General locked horns with the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo in line of investigating him for allegedly paying a kroll company for no work done.
The high court at the end delivered the judgement that Mr Domelovo breached the rules of natural justice in his handling of the audit process for the $1milliom kroll and associate deal.
As if that was not enough, the president directed the Auditor General to go on accumulated leave of 123 days which gave them the space to intensify corruption activities.
Anti-Corruption crusader, Mr Domelovo was finally forced to go on retirement after he has exhausted his accumulated leave and had officially resumed.
Clearly, the decision to retire the corruption fighter who has been lauded by both the local and international institutions has been successfully executed by the president.
