Incoming vice president Naana Opoku Agyemang visits Oti Region tomorrow

 

The most dignified, honest, humble and intelligent incoming Veep, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku- Agyemang shall embark on a 2- day campaign tour in the Oti Region from the 30th of October 2020 to 31st of October 2020 to engage the electorates and opinion leaders with the message for rescuing Ghana on December 7, 2020.

Below is the itinerary for the tour.

The entourage shall engage the following constituencies on 

*Day 1.*

 *1.  Biakoye Constituency*

  @ 10:00am: A courtesy call on Nana Okoforobour Barfour Kwame Asante II (Vice President of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs) 

Venue: Chiefs palace at Abotoase.

@ 10:45am - 11:45am: There shall be Community Engagement with the people of Abotoase at the Abotoase Lorry Park.

*2. Krachi East Constituency*

@ 12:20pm- 1:20pm, there shall be Community Engagement at Katanga R/C Mission Yard.

@ 1:45pm- 2:45pm,there shall be Community Engagement with the people of Dambai  at the Dambai-Lorry park.

@ 3:50pm- 4:50 pm, Prof. will engage the community at Bajamae R/C School park

*Prez Akuffo Addo's tour in Oti Region is an Exercise in Futility*

Akuffo Addo's tour has always resulted in a rented crowd especially the rural folks and the parading of students under harsh weather condition  to meet him.

Covid-19 has spared some section of the students from the usual parades with deceitful placards to welcome him. 

His tour in Oti Region which he started on Wednesday 21st October, has not been entirely different from the previous ones we have witnessed.

Unlike Prez Mahama whose presence attract people's from all walks of life, Akuffo Addo's tour has seen party executives moving from one household to another mobilizing with pleadings.

This act is not only shameful but also serves as an embarrassment and a testament of bad governance.

Oti Region cannot boast of any developmental projects under Akuffo Addo's government not even a hen coop! The One District, One Factory  remains a mirage in the Oti Region since no Constituency can be  pointed at to have befitted from the said program.

No District Hospital has been constructed to facilitate health care delivery in the region under Mr. Akuffo Addo's regime. 

No single CHPS Compound has been constructed. In fact, there is absolutely nothing to show that, the good people of this region are part of Ghana under Mr. Akuffo Addo's tenure in office.

Mr. Akuffo Addo's radio program on Beyond Fm 90.7 in Nkwanta South further exposes his inability to pin point at one particular project his government has done within a space of 3 years and 9 months in office.

His admission that, Nkwanta South seat is a seat of the NDC unlike Nkwanta North seat which was once occupied by Hon. Nayan is a testament to the fact that, no amount of the NPP propaganda and deceit can give them any single seat in the 8 Constituencies come December 7th. 

Akuffo Addo's description of the NPP parliamentary candidates in Oti Region as first class candidates is not only misleding but a calculated attempt to discredit them in the eyes of the electorates simply because most of his NPP parliamentary candidates within the Region only show up when there is an organized event under the auspices of NPP NEC and pretending to be working for themselves and the president without putting people first. 

On the same beyond FM 90.7 interview,  the president pleaded with the people of Oti Region to mandate him for another 4 years. This call by the president is another admission of how the NPP has failed Ghanaians. Because the president should not have been begging at this time instead, his good works if really he has any  must speak for him.

In his itinerary, he has a lot of sod cutting to do in the region and one may ask, what is the rationale behind the sod cutting ceremonies while we are going to the polls in less than 50 days to change the bad governance, insecurity , economic hardship with only few selected closer to the seat of government looting the state for their generations unborn? 

His predecessor and the incoming president, H.E. John Dramani Mahama in 2016 same period was rather seen all over the country commissioning projects and not doing "last minute" sod cutting to buy the votes of the unsuspecting Ghanaians.

For example, the 5 E-Blocks constructed in Yabram, Kwamekrom, Chenderi, Nkwanta and Damanko (uncompleted) are some capital projects started  by H.E John Dramani Mahama and I believe those projects are speaking for him.

The CHPS Compounds all over the 8 Constituencies are speaking for H.E John Dramani Mahama.

Mr. President, where are the projects you borrowed for?

NDC to win Majority seats in Parliament with 209

 

It's now crystal clear that, the NDC will win Majority in Parliament in the forthcoming election.

It meant to suggest that, the various parliamentary candidates must continue to work till they are declared on 7th December.

It's their victory that would eventually translate into the total victory of the presidential candidate, H.E John Dramani Mahama.

The Oti Regional Communication Bureau wishes all Parliamentary Candidates the best of luck as they complete their filing of norminations today. We are optimistic that, the electoral victory on 7th December is  resounding.

 

Few days ago, the Flagbearer and the incoming president H.E John Dramani Mahama has also launched a retail campaign at Sefwi Dwinasi in the Western North Region and that must reflect in our various Constituencies.

We also wish to convey a message of good fortunes to our Incoming President, H. E. John Dramani Mahama as he emabarks on his launched retail  campaign towards this year's general election in order to rescue Ghana from the maladroit Akuffo Addo administration. 

We are much convinced that victory is nonnegotiable should transparency and fairness triumph at the EC outfit on December 7th , 2020.

Events preceding this year's elections are unfortunate but we believe where "there's will there's a way"! The oppressor is trying hard to oppress the rights of the governed. 

The masses our Incoming President had the opportunity to interact with so far have spoken a clear language and those he is still interacting with and yet to interact with also have same appetite for *Change*. 

Lastly and most importantly, we must prioritize our security issues at all levels of the party due to the high level of insecurity existing in the country. The security of our Flagbearer H.E John Dramani Mahama and his running mate Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang must also be of a great concern to all the rescue missionaries. With God be on our side, we shall be shielded. 

The rescue mission is a must!

Akuffo Addo has made the security services less attractive

Nana Akuffo Addo and the  New Patriotic Party upon assumption of office have not only discredited our  security services but has also made the services and the forces less attractive.

The regional commanders of such services are no longer consulted before recruitments are done. They have either been sidelined or ignored which created a big vaccum that has made the whole process of recruitment compromised.

The Ghana Police Service, The Ghana Immigration Service, The Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Fire Service etc. are now controlled and regulated by strong forces at the presidency. 

Opportunity was therefore created for Nana Akuffo Addo and the NPP to recruit party invincible forces into the security services.

Recently, a slot of 5 was given to each government appointee and the parliamentary candidates of the ruling NPP government to bring people for recruitment into the immigration service. This, I was told was a political recruitment to boost the opportunities of especially the parliamentary candidates to win their various seats. Even the regional commanders of the service were neither contacted nor consulted.

*Western Togoland Secessionist Group, a big threat to the Security of Ghana*

The call for independence by the above Secessionist  group does not only threatened the peace and Security of this country but also an affront to our democracy.

The call for Volta Region by this seccesionist group to be autonomous is a calculated attempt to re-write the historical anticedent of the great Volta and must be rejected unequivocally.

A recent meeting held by the Regional house of Chiefs in Volta Region was not attended by the Minister for National Security, Albert Kan- Dapaah which  sounds ridiculous.

To add more insult to an injury, an invitation given to the Regional Minister and the Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister by the Regional House of Chiefs to discuss measures to deal disturbances and threats posed by the apparent secessionist group was not even honored by these two sons of the Volta soil with the excuse that, they are busy and already scheduled for a meeting elsewhere!  The manner in which the invitation by the Volta Regional House of Chiefs to these personalities including their own sons is being treated is gradually proving right the allegation of the state involvement in these disturbances to politically destabilize the strong hold of the opposition in the run up to the December elections which is less than two months from now. 

It appears some   appointees of the NPP who hail from Volta region have deep connection with this Homeland Study Group.

One of such personalities is the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Letsa whose name is being circulated as a financier of the group. So far his posture and that of the entire NPP government on the uprising is leaving no doubt in the mind of many that, the disturbances in the Volta Region under the pretence of the "Western Togolanders" is hatched at the corridors of the jubilee house. 

Let's always remember that, we have one nation with a common  destiny and any calculated attempt to sacrifice part or whole of the country for a political gain defeats the essence of Article 4(1) of the 1992 constitution and the Presidential Oath taken by Mr. Akuffo Addo on 7th December, 2017.

The Oti Regional NDC has inaugurates it's campaign team at the regional Capital in Dambai.

Oti Regional NDC receives 16 motorbikes and 8 laptops

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Oti Region has received campaign support from the flagbearer of the party, H.E John Dramani Mahama as part of measures to canvass support at it's respective constituencies, ahead of the 7th December Election.

The Region has acknowledged receipt of 16 new Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority-registered motorbikes and 8 Lenovo laptops on Friday,31st July 2020 at the MPs residence in Nkwanta South.

The able regional Chairman Hon.Gyapong Cudjo, disbursed the donated items on behalf of the Flagbearer to the leadership of the party across the respective constituencies.

Each constituency received two(2) motorbikes with one(1) laptop.

The Regional Chairman has tasked the leadership to put the logistics to good use so as to achieve an overwhelming Victory for H.E John Dramani Mahama and the various Parliamentary Candidates across the Constituencies.

He emphasized the need to also  make use of the laptops since we are in an information world and more importantly the need to take good care of the logistics.

Winning 2020 election is now a communal labour and he therefore urged the leadership to effectively work towards achieving a total victory

The Regional Chairman on behalf of his executives thanked the flagbearer H.E John Dramani Mahama and promised to work collectively for a success.

Eid Mubarak to all Muslims across the NDC Fraternity

*HAPPY EID-UL-ADHA TO ALL MUSLIMS IN GHANA*

 

Eid-ul- Adha which is also known as a festival of sacrifice is celebrated by  Muslims all over the world.The festival falls on the 10th day of Dhu- al- Hijjah, which is the last month(12th) month of the Muslim lunar Calendar.

It's celebrated to remember the Prophet loyalty towards God.And because of his actions,the festival is also known as a *Festival of Sacrifice*

The act simply symbolises giving away the dearest and hence it suggest one must be willing to sacrifice what they love the  most.Devotees celebrate this festival by sacrificing  a lamb or an animal to show their obedience to Allah(God).

May the blessings in  this year's celebration of Eid-ul- Adha grant us our heart desires.

I also want to use this opportunity to caution all to observe the WHO protocols of mitigating the deadly Corona Virus Pandemic i.e washing of hands regularly, use of facemask, use of handsanitizersa and social distancing.

May Allah also cure those affected by the virus and deliver the entire Nations from this pandemic.

*OTI NDC IS CALLING ON ALL CITIZENS WHO HAVE ATTAINED ADULT SUFFRAGE IN THE REGION TO PARTAKE IN THE ONGOING EC REGISTRATION EXERCISE*

The journey to attaining self freedom and economic prosperity for all under the next NDC government led by H.E John Dramani Mahama shall remain unabated with or without a new register. 

The Oti Regional Chapter of the NDC is humbly calling all indigenes/ dwellers in  Oti Region  to avail themselves for inclusion in the new voter roll currently being  compiled by the Jean Mensah led Electoral Commission.

We however wish to admit that, the presence of the military shouldn't deter anybody living in our border communities of the Region from partaking in this important exercise.

We also urge all our party members and sympathizers and most especially our polling agents to be vigilant, fearless and  loyal in discharging their duties to the party they represent.

Again, we are urging the security services deployed to safeguard lives and properties at the various registration centres to act professionally and abide by the rules of engagement.

We expect an incident free process and will not tolerate any form of deliberate move to suppress the will and constitutional rights of the citizens as enshrined in the supreme law of the nation.

Monetization and Violence have Characterized NPP's Election

The New Patriotic Party is today June 20, 2020  holding parliamentary primaries in some 101 constituencies across the country.Polls opened at 7:00am and expected to close at 1:00 pm

The NPP as a political party is believed to have been borne out of capitalism and therefore places money and material things above the lives of their members.

Today's primaries by the New Patriotic Party would have made some delegates 20,000ghc richer as aspirants were competing to pay more than the other.

For example, aspirants in New Juaben South Constituency saw a   contender Michael  Okyere Baafi  splashing GHC4,000 to each delegate whiles incumbent Mark Assibey-Yeboah  giving $1,000 which eventually influences the winning of the candidates with the highest bid.

In some constituencies like Akim Oda, incumbent MP, William Agyapong Quaittoo faced a lot of difficulties to get delegates convinced for some goodies because of his abysmal performance though, he has offered each delegate a flat screen TV, a fridge and an amount of GHC 5,000 a classical case of vote buying.

Not only is the primaries characterized by vote buying but also violence and chaos.
As the saying goes, "you reap what you sow".

The widespread violence exhibited in full public gallery in almost all constituencies today could only be traced to the unabated training of thugs by the ruling NPP to intimidate and cause mayhem in the upcoming General elections.

The rehearsal we are being told about during the attack on innocent citizens by a state sponsored terrorists attired in National Security uniform at Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election has resurfaced in their own internal elections.

Many victims of today's violence wouldn't have been victims of hooliganism if they had all supported the call for an end to vigilantism when the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election violence was visited on innocent, harmless and armless citizens. The NPP defended them without shame and it is time to feel a taste of their own palaver.

The NPP as a political entity remains and continues to exist as a terror in Ghana's political history. The dark days in Ghana's political adminstration  begun since the inception of the NPP tradition.

Let not forget how the NPP government just after the 2016 election victory vandalized state organization and agencies in order to take take over from the already existing staff/workers.
Today's primaries in some constituencies was not different from what they are noted for. Our political fortunes shouldn't be at the expense of the lives of the very citizens that bestow power on us.

The world is watching and today's widespread violence epitomizes the breakdown in state security since January 8th, 2017.

The Independence of the EC Questionable

Comrades, we are gradually getting to the point of knowing  whether  the EC is independent or not.

We are also getting to a point of knowing whether institution with autonomous and independent authority granted by the 1992 constitution (legal frame of the land) like the EC can easily be influenced or not.

Directive by the Supreme Court to the EC has given the EC an opportunity to exhibit and  make legal evidence and references to the effect of excluding the prima facie evidence(voter ID card) of citizens from this important exercise (voter registration).

The Supreme Court (highest law of the land) asking the EC to provide the empirical basis for their uncompromising stance to compile a new voters' register has gradually deflated the confidence of the institution led by Jean Mensah.

The NDC as the  biggest opposition party  has clearly demonstrated a genuine concern and  fighting the EC legally for their readiness to disenfranchise millions of eligible voters through the compilation of a new voters' register which accept only *passport* and *Ghana* as the basis for registration.
The NDC's decision to appear before the SC(highest court) has justified and supported their case with the following;

Legal justification:

1. The 1992 Constitution
2. An Act of Parliament
3. Subsidiary Legislation j
4. The Court made an order justifying it.

We waiting to see what the EC presents to the Supreme Court on Monday as a justification to exclude myself from voting on 7the December because i have neither passport nor Ghana card.

I must commend the legal team for how far they have come and urge all comrades to support the course for this fight.

Currently, nothing is more dangerous to the welfare of Ghanaians than the current election management body led by Jean Mensah.

It is time, Jean Mensah and the rest of her lieutenants begin to think about the welfare of Ghanaians and heed to the call by many reasonable civil society organisations.

In the past, IPAC was very instrumental in the decision making process of the EC. Same can't be said today under the arrogant, mischievous, intolerant and politically induced Election management body instituted by Akuffo Addo.

The safety of Ghanaians must be of great concern to every state institution tasked to perform a constitutional mandate for and on behalf of the citizens.

Of what benefit is election to the sick and the dead? Why the rush to compile a register in this abnormal time?

We can't and shouldn't substitute the wellbeing of Ghanaians with election fortunes!

It is very despicable for a public servant who is being paid from the Consolidated fund to stand in as a representative of a political party during IPAC meetings. The dangerous precedent set by Mr. Anokye of the NIA deserves condemnation by any Ghanaian of sound mind having considered the magnitude of powers at the disposal of the NIA in the management of the National data.

To add more insult to injury, same Mr. Anokye revealed that, the EC will rely on their data to register Ghanaians for election 2020. How can one guarantee fairness in such a circumstance while the NIA has deployed few and faulty machines and human resource to the strongholds of the NDC during their nationwide registration leading to low turn out in those regions and did vice versa in the strongholds of the NPP?

The broad day light conspiracy to rig the 2020 elections in favor of their paymaster's is very alarming. 

The EC must come clean on the numerous allegations leveled against it or else the outcome of the 2020 elections may not be accepted by all in good faith. 

This is not the first commissioner and this will not be the last commissioner in the dispensation of our democratic governance. The predecessors of Jean Mensah are still alive and have worked to the admiration of many Ghanaians to the extent that, the international community continues to employ their service in the sub-region. 

The cause of most elections violence in the world are caused by manipulation and rigging attempts by the Election management body and Jean Mensah and her deputies should learn lessons from such occurrences. 

We must at all time serve the state in good faith as public servants and not to dance to tune of our appointment authorities.

Ramadan Wishes to Comrade in the NDC Fraternity

Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year for Muslims.

It is believed that, it was during this month that God revealed the first verses of the Quran, Islam's sacred text,to Mohammed, on a night known as ''The Night of Power".

We wish all Muslims in the NDC Fraternity   a blessed Ramadan as they journey through this month of their lives that clearly focus on their relationship with God(Allah).

May God (Allah) give them the needed strength, energy, wisdom, good health and wealth to engage in their spiritual discipline of deep contemplation of their relationship with God.

May the Almighty Allah use this Holy month to heal the affected Nation from Covid-19 especially Ghana as our confirmed positive cases are on the rise.

Finally, We pray for the Flagbearer, H.E John Dramani  Mahama and the NDC to win the upcoming Election in order to alleviate the sufferings of the Ghanaian populace.

Coronavirus has Exposed the Decorated and Bandaged lies of Akuffo Addo's Government

We are indeed in difficult times as a country.
The consequences of COVID-19 is very devastating and collapsing many strong economies but our hope still remain unshaken as nation.
Definitely, we shall overcome this one too. It is rather unfortunate that,  the wisdom exhibited in dealing with the Ebola pandemic that started on Africa soil wasn't adhered to in dealing with COVID-19 which originates from Asia; 10,848 km away from Ghana.

The government virtually disregard calls by citizens and opposition political parties to close all entry points to Ghana but as usual, the "listening president"  and his too-knowing appointees never bothered to take into consideration the proposal of the masses.

COVID-19 would have had no track record on our soil if the leadership of this nation is truly led by a listening president.

However, we are in it together and shall overcome.
Thankfully, President Mahama is leaving no stone unturned in this crisis. He willingly offered to bring on board his expertise in handling the Ebola pandemic that never touched an ant at the shores of Ghana despite its close proximity (948 km) to the borders of Ghana. Ghana is blessed to have a such a patriotic, lovely and clean hearted politician and a president who solely and genuinely rely on God's wisdom to rule Ghana.

For the past 3 years, we have heard and read about so many policies of the Akuffo Addo government which they claimed to be more superior to those executed by H.E John Dramani Mahama.

Indeed, posterity is the best judge and time is fast exposing the ills portrayed as healths on which Akuffo Addo is running the country.

Well, if your agriculture sector is weak despite the acclaimed positive results of "planting for food and jobs", COVID-19 will expose you!
Ghanaians would attest to the fact that, right after the late declaration of the lockdown of Ghana's entry points by Mr. Akuffo Addo, there is a sharp increment in food prices with 100% minimum and 300% maximum. This is the time, the Agric Minister and NPP communicators are trumpeting "planting for food and jobs".
The fact is that, most of our foodstuff are imported from Neighboring countries, hence the closure of our boarders have triggered an automatic price hikes. Gari which used to sell for Ghc 7.00 per olomka in the cities is now going for Ghc 25.00 while a finger of okra now goes for Ghc 1.50 so you are likely to get 4 fingers of okro for Ghc 6.00 which can not prepare a day super for a kindergarten pupil.

So, what happened to the results of "planting for food and jobs"?
Just a day lockdown and Ghanaians are complaining of food shortage and the sharp price hikes.

Again, if you hoodwink the kayeyes for votes and even in power you continue to made mention of constructing non-existing hostel for kayeyes, the cargo intercepted at Ejisu will expose you during the COVID-19 outbreak lockdown!
The partial lockdown by the president which he announced in advance despite the foreseen urban -rural drift before the due date has exposed one of the grievous and shameful lies told by Otiko Djaba then Gender Minister that, they have built a hostel for all kayeyes living in Kumasi.
The crying and wailing of these kayeyes pointed to the fact that, the shoulders of the street still remain their source of shelter after been forced to donate in support of the NPP 2016 campaign.

So is the health sector too. When you said in opposition that, Accra Ridge Hospital ,University of Ghana Hospital and Bank of Ghana hospitals built by H.E John Dramani Mahama are all Photoshop, COVID-19 patients treated and quarantined in those facilities will expose your shameful lies churned out in opposition.
This is the time to prioritize wisdom over wicked entrenched position and also the time to either prioritize a national cathedral with stones imported from Israel over Basic Amenities.

We have observed the National Fasting day declared by the government in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak in our homes while the cathedrals remain closed and those diagnosed are hospitalized in the Ridge, UG and BoG hospitals. Same facilities we were told never existed in 2016 by the NPP in opposition. I wonder how we can treat patients in Photoshop facilities while in fact, those patients undergoing treatment and quarantined are not Photoshop in nature!

On the other hand, if you condemn H.E John Dramani Mahama on cheap political grounds for seeking IMF Bailout to restructure the economy with home grown policies, COVID-19 will expose your hypocrisy and incompetence when you run to same IMF for $100m to fight the pandemic.
The last time I checked, IMF only acknowledged receipt of the loan application by Akuffo Addo - Bawumia led government to tackle COVID-19 in Ghana.

What happened to the mantra "our economy is resilient with growth in GDP and per capita income for every Ghanaian"? The manipulated and cooked figures are now exposing us with no option left to explore than an attempt to deplete the Heritage Fund established by the "incompetent" predecessor and "professor do little".
When you massage economic indicators to look good, difficult moments of this nature won't save you from  broad day embarrassment.
Our economy is in bad shape as against the picture painted by the government through her communicators.

The litany of lies exposed by coronavirus is beyond the management of the Akuffo Addo government in this difficult times.

Ghanaians have a story to tell and an action to take after this pandemic takes leave of us.
We pray and hope that, the Creator see us through this avoidable moment.

Again, all citizens must continue to adhere to the hygienic and safety protocols on preventing and fighting the coronavirus.
