WOES OF A FALLING CEDI

Is no more interesting to see the Ghanaian Cedi deteriorating at the fastest rate on daily basis.
It was in this country that, the current vice president told the entire Ghanaian population that, the NDC Government had no better economic management team and that had resulted in the depreciated Cedi.

As at 25th December 2019, the rate of a one  dollar *($1)* is equivalent to *Ghc5.83*, then the economic team of the vice president of which he is the Chairman has failed Ghanaians.

Those days the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akuffo Addo also tweeted on 4th June 2016 and said  *the current depreciation of the Cedi against the dollar is as a result of bad leadership and that, we cannot buy a dollar for 3.72 and for that matter change is needed*

He who pelt one with pebbles asked for rocks in return.

Today, the ratio of US Dollar to Ghanaian Cedi is *$1: 5.83* and i think is also prudent to say that, both the boastful Economic team of Bawumia and that of the president have equally failed Ghanaians and therefore change is needed now.

The bad leadership exhibited by the president and the Economic Management team are the worst crop of leadership Ghana would have experienced.

Prices of goods and services are skyrocketing both at the local and in the international market turning the depreciated Ghanaian Cedi to a laughing stock.

The finance minister, Mr Ken Ofori Atta told journalist of their expectations to stabilize the currency in 2 weeks time because some inflows of foreign exchange is expected to enter into the country soon. This comment by the finance minister shows the hypocrisy exhibited in a broad daylight by his own Government then in opposition.

The Bank of Ghana's interbank exchange as at February 1, shows the Cedi had depreciated by 2.6% against the US dollar compared to the 0.1% appreciation in the same period last year.

The Government of the day only succeeded in deceiving Ghanaians into believing that, they have the antidote to all the problems confronting the Ghanaian Economy.

Infact, NPP Government led by Nana Akuffo Addo and Bawumia have made our industries less efficient since the Cedi has never been stable in order to improve the competitiveness of Ghanaian industry upon assumption of office in 2017.

Christmas Wishes to the NDC Fraternity

*Christmas Message from the Office of the Oti Regional Communication*

The journey so far has been full of the Lord's unconditional and faithful blessings.
Christmas is a season of love, care and peace, hence we must all celebrate the season with the love of Christ with care for the underprivileged in society while we remain at peace with each and everyone we encounter during our journey in life.
Despite the economic hardship we are being subjected to as citizens by the corrupt insensitive Akuffo Addo government, we can still assure one another of better days ahead when we make the right choices in 2020 via the polls.

We can't afford to endanger our democratic credentials any longer by retaining the vindictive, intolerant and despotic Akuffo Addo and his bunch of state terrors in power beyond 2020.

As 2020 approaches, we must ensure unity at levels of the party structure to vanquish the common enemy of the state.
May I take this opportunity to wish all our party folks, sympathizers and the general public the joy of the holiday season and a happy prosperous new year in advance.

Show Us the Location of the One District One Factory Established in Oti Region.

*Oti Regional Communication Bureau ask for a share in the Deceptive 1 District, 1 Factory Policy as Captured in the 2016 manifesto of the NPP*

Ghanaians are losing confidence in the political leadership of this country on daily basis due to the deceptive politics at play anchored on sugar-coated promises that brought the NPP into power. For the past three years, the most enviable record set by the government of the day led by Mr. Akuffo Addo is the wide spread institutionalisation of corruption and open hatred for indigenous business entities owned by Ghanaians perceived to be the political opponents of the 75 years old president.

For the avoidance of doubt, not less than 500 privately owned business entities nurtured and engineered by Ghanaians have  been politically shut down on grounds of allegedly operating illegally leading to the lost of million of  jobs and investments made in the affected defunct establishments meanwhile, these defunct entities were operating smoothly and financially strong and enhancing human capital development with high prosperity for all prior to the swearing in Mr. Akuffo Addo and Bawumia.

It is worthy to note that, at this trying moment in the history of Ghana, the best option the president, surrounded with his family and friends in government have resorted to, is to engage in gross deception of the public with the mindset that all Ghanaians are gullible and can be fooled all the time.

Mr. President, in your desperate bid for power, you have unconsciously promised the people of Ghana, One District, One Factory (1D1F). A policy you claimed is  set to ignite Ghana's industrialization and set it on course for socio-economic development and to create Jobs for the youth.
If the NPP government has forgotten so soon this particular promise they made in Chapter 2 on page 31 of their 2016 manifesto which reads, " in collaboration with the private sector, the NPP will implement the one district, one factory initiative. This District Industrialization Programme will ensure an even spatial spread of industries " then, the Oti Regional Communications Bureau of the NDC is reminding them to revisit the aforementioned chapter and page in order to make good their promise to the people of Oti Region  before leaving power in 2020. We also deserve the "even and spatial spread of industries in all the districts of Oti Region.

Unfortunately, this policy turns out to be one of the cheap slogans echoed on every platform the NPP government happens to access with nothing on the ground pointing to successful implementation or execution of the policy.
To engage the populace on another misleading and fruitless venture, the
Government has recently published non- existing and in some cases  privately owned enterprises or companies which are in  existence  long before Mr. Akuffo Addo came to power with his failed  1D 1F policy initiative.

Amazingly, Oti Region as one of the newly created region cannot boast of the Deceptive 1D1F in any of their districts .
Government has not even attempted to re-brand any of the already existing private enterprises as their own just like what we saw in the case of the Wood Processing Factory at Hohoe which is privately owned by 3 Lebanese.

The Oti Region as a newly created Region has absolutely nothing to boast of as a project initiated and  executed under the Deceptive Government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.

Ghanaians thought this policy was a critical policy that would have changed the landscape of business for this economy but unfortunately it has not.

The people of Oti Region deserves development just like what was witnessed under the leadership of H.E John Dramani Mahama within a space period of four(4) years.

The claimed list of fifty-eight(58) companies and 26 projects currently under construction as published are malicious  and political gimmicks just to hoodwink Ghanaians for votes towards 2020 General Elections.

The NPP Government has not only taken the people of  Oti region for granted but have times without number demonstrated their open hatred for them.

We call on the president and the NPP Government as a matter of urgency to also give the people of Oti Region a fair share of the Deceptive One District, One Factory.

Oti Regional Communication Bureau Congratulates Farmers Across the Globe

*Congratulations to the Peasant and Commercial Farmers in Ghana and across the Globe*

National Farmers Day in Ghana is celebrated every first Friday of December each year to recognise the contributions of farmers and fishers in the country. The day is observed as public holiday to recognize the importance of  the agriculture sector in the socio-economic growth of Ghana and to pay respect to the 2% of Ghanaian citizens who have taken up the challenge to ensure food security.

Farmers Day was instituted in 1985 by the Ghana government after the industries showed a 30 percent growth in 1984. The first Farmers Day was celebrated in Osino, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, where the drought was most severe.

The Celebration of Farmers day is to recognize and appraise farmers for their hard work and  dedication. Ghanaian Farmer deserves the needed recognition as he/she daily risk the life for the larger interest of Ghanaians.
Much of Ghana's economy is related to agriculture , which is why the celebration is so extensive across the country.

We Congratulate Farmers on this special day and urge them to continue working hard in order to increase the food basket of the country.
The farmers in Ghana are faced with  numerous challenges and notable amongst them are; lack of attention to irrigation development to enhance all round season farming, high transport cost of output, poor roads to farms, land acquisition ,lack of Government support and disease and pests control.

The Government of the day has paid little or no attention to the plight of farmers as their living conditions are in a deplorable state because their farm produce do not attract market and let alone talk of getting income from the sale of their produce.

There was a tremendous growth in the agriculture sector under the NDC Government led by H.E John Dramani Mahama and that was why in 2013, the agriculture contribution to GDP was 21.7 percent; 22 percent in 2014; 22.1 percent in 2015; 22.7 percent in 2016 and declined to 21.2 percent in 2017 and 19.7 percent in 2018 under the Poorly performed NPP government.

We are optimistic that, the next NDC government will continue with the halted free fertilizer distribution which is replaced with subsidized fertilizer by the NPP government which is only accessible to NPP card bearing members and stolen through the "planting for food and job" employees with impunity.

LongLive Farmers
