WOES OF A FALLING CEDI

Is no more interesting to see the Ghanaian Cedi deteriorating at the fastest rate on daily basis.
It was in this country that, the current vice president told the entire Ghanaian population that, the NDC Government had no better economic management team and that had resulted in the depreciated Cedi.

As at 25th December 2019, the rate of a one  dollar *($1)* is equivalent to *Ghc5.83*, then the economic team of the vice president of which he is the Chairman has failed Ghanaians.

Those days the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akuffo Addo also tweeted on 4th June 2016 and said  *the current depreciation of the Cedi against the dollar is as a result of bad leadership and that, we cannot buy a dollar for 3.72 and for that matter change is needed*

He who pelt one with pebbles asked for rocks in return.

Today, the ratio of US Dollar to Ghanaian Cedi is *$1: 5.83* and i think is also prudent to say that, both the boastful Economic team of Bawumia and that of the president have equally failed Ghanaians and therefore change is needed now.

The bad leadership exhibited by the president and the Economic Management team are the worst crop of leadership Ghana would have experienced.

Prices of goods and services are skyrocketing both at the local and in the international market turning the depreciated Ghanaian Cedi to a laughing stock.

The finance minister, Mr Ken Ofori Atta told journalist of their expectations to stabilize the currency in 2 weeks time because some inflows of foreign exchange is expected to enter into the country soon. This comment by the finance minister shows the hypocrisy exhibited in a broad daylight by his own Government then in opposition.

The Bank of Ghana's interbank exchange as at February 1, shows the Cedi had depreciated by 2.6% against the US dollar compared to the 0.1% appreciation in the same period last year.

The Government of the day only succeeded in deceiving Ghanaians into believing that, they have the antidote to all the problems confronting the Ghanaian Economy.

Infact, NPP Government led by Nana Akuffo Addo and Bawumia have made our industries less efficient since the Cedi has never been stable in order to improve the competitiveness of Ghanaian industry upon assumption of office in 2017.

Christmas Wishes to the NDC Fraternity

*Christmas Message from the Office of the Oti Regional Communication*

The journey so far has been full of the Lord's unconditional and faithful blessings.
Christmas is a season of love, care and peace, hence we must all celebrate the season with the love of Christ with care for the underprivileged in society while we remain at peace with each and everyone we encounter during our journey in life.
Despite the economic hardship we are being subjected to as citizens by the corrupt insensitive Akuffo Addo government, we can still assure one another of better days ahead when we make the right choices in 2020 via the polls.

We can't afford to endanger our democratic credentials any longer by retaining the vindictive, intolerant and despotic Akuffo Addo and his bunch of state terrors in power beyond 2020.

As 2020 approaches, we must ensure unity at levels of the party structure to vanquish the common enemy of the state.
May I take this opportunity to wish all our party folks, sympathizers and the general public the joy of the holiday season and a happy prosperous new year in advance.

Show Us the Location of the One District One Factory Established in Oti Region.

*Oti Regional Communication Bureau ask for a share in the Deceptive 1 District, 1 Factory Policy as Captured in the 2016 manifesto of the NPP*

Ghanaians are losing confidence in the political leadership of this country on daily basis due to the deceptive politics at play anchored on sugar-coated promises that brought the NPP into power. For the past three years, the most enviable record set by the government of the day led by Mr. Akuffo Addo is the wide spread institutionalisation of corruption and open hatred for indigenous business entities owned by Ghanaians perceived to be the political opponents of the 75 years old president.

For the avoidance of doubt, not less than 500 privately owned business entities nurtured and engineered by Ghanaians have  been politically shut down on grounds of allegedly operating illegally leading to the lost of million of  jobs and investments made in the affected defunct establishments meanwhile, these defunct entities were operating smoothly and financially strong and enhancing human capital development with high prosperity for all prior to the swearing in Mr. Akuffo Addo and Bawumia.

It is worthy to note that, at this trying moment in the history of Ghana, the best option the president, surrounded with his family and friends in government have resorted to, is to engage in gross deception of the public with the mindset that all Ghanaians are gullible and can be fooled all the time.

Mr. President, in your desperate bid for power, you have unconsciously promised the people of Ghana, One District, One Factory (1D1F). A policy you claimed is  set to ignite Ghana's industrialization and set it on course for socio-economic development and to create Jobs for the youth.
If the NPP government has forgotten so soon this particular promise they made in Chapter 2 on page 31 of their 2016 manifesto which reads, " in collaboration with the private sector, the NPP will implement the one district, one factory initiative. This District Industrialization Programme will ensure an even spatial spread of industries " then, the Oti Regional Communications Bureau of the NDC is reminding them to revisit the aforementioned chapter and page in order to make good their promise to the people of Oti Region  before leaving power in 2020. We also deserve the "even and spatial spread of industries in all the districts of Oti Region.

Unfortunately, this policy turns out to be one of the cheap slogans echoed on every platform the NPP government happens to access with nothing on the ground pointing to successful implementation or execution of the policy.
To engage the populace on another misleading and fruitless venture, the
Government has recently published non- existing and in some cases  privately owned enterprises or companies which are in  existence  long before Mr. Akuffo Addo came to power with his failed  1D 1F policy initiative.

Amazingly, Oti Region as one of the newly created region cannot boast of the Deceptive 1D1F in any of their districts .
Government has not even attempted to re-brand any of the already existing private enterprises as their own just like what we saw in the case of the Wood Processing Factory at Hohoe which is privately owned by 3 Lebanese.

The Oti Region as a newly created Region has absolutely nothing to boast of as a project initiated and  executed under the Deceptive Government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.

Ghanaians thought this policy was a critical policy that would have changed the landscape of business for this economy but unfortunately it has not.

The people of Oti Region deserves development just like what was witnessed under the leadership of H.E John Dramani Mahama within a space period of four(4) years.

The claimed list of fifty-eight(58) companies and 26 projects currently under construction as published are malicious  and political gimmicks just to hoodwink Ghanaians for votes towards 2020 General Elections.

The NPP Government has not only taken the people of  Oti region for granted but have times without number demonstrated their open hatred for them.

We call on the president and the NPP Government as a matter of urgency to also give the people of Oti Region a fair share of the Deceptive One District, One Factory.

Oti Regional Communication Bureau Congratulates Farmers Across the Globe

*Congratulations to the Peasant and Commercial Farmers in Ghana and across the Globe*

National Farmers Day in Ghana is celebrated every first Friday of December each year to recognise the contributions of farmers and fishers in the country. The day is observed as public holiday to recognize the importance of  the agriculture sector in the socio-economic growth of Ghana and to pay respect to the 2% of Ghanaian citizens who have taken up the challenge to ensure food security.

Farmers Day was instituted in 1985 by the Ghana government after the industries showed a 30 percent growth in 1984. The first Farmers Day was celebrated in Osino, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, where the drought was most severe.

The Celebration of Farmers day is to recognize and appraise farmers for their hard work and  dedication. Ghanaian Farmer deserves the needed recognition as he/she daily risk the life for the larger interest of Ghanaians.
Much of Ghana's economy is related to agriculture , which is why the celebration is so extensive across the country.

We Congratulate Farmers on this special day and urge them to continue working hard in order to increase the food basket of the country.
The farmers in Ghana are faced with  numerous challenges and notable amongst them are; lack of attention to irrigation development to enhance all round season farming, high transport cost of output, poor roads to farms, land acquisition ,lack of Government support and disease and pests control.

The Government of the day has paid little or no attention to the plight of farmers as their living conditions are in a deplorable state because their farm produce do not attract market and let alone talk of getting income from the sale of their produce.

There was a tremendous growth in the agriculture sector under the NDC Government led by H.E John Dramani Mahama and that was why in 2013, the agriculture contribution to GDP was 21.7 percent; 22 percent in 2014; 22.1 percent in 2015; 22.7 percent in 2016 and declined to 21.2 percent in 2017 and 19.7 percent in 2018 under the Poorly performed NPP government.

We are optimistic that, the next NDC government will continue with the halted free fertilizer distribution which is replaced with subsidized fertilizer by the NPP government which is only accessible to NPP card bearing members and stolen through the "planting for food and job" employees with impunity.

Oti Regional Communications Officer Jabs Bawumia

*Corrupt President Akuffo Addo and Dishonest Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia must walk their talks on Critical Roads in Oti Region*

The recent sod cutting for the construction of the Hohoe-Jasikan- Dodo Pepeso road is a complete avoidable waste of state resources by the Vice President who should have been revising his Economics pamphlets in search of antidote to the Economic woes which confront the good people of Ghana and Oti Region in particular.

Oti Region is amongst the newly created regions with abandoned projects such as Roads, Schools (Both Basic and Secondary),CHPS compounds etc.

The erstwhile  President  Mahama led administration has done a lot of projects which came to a stand still as a result of a change of Government in the last election.

As captured under the critical roads in the 2020 budget presented by the  Finance Minister Mr Ken Offori Atta, we are extremely dismay about the level of Dishonesty by the president, the Vice president and the Finance Minister for the deceit and propaganda they have attached to some critical infrastructure needs of the people within the Oti Enclaves.

The Vice president Mahamudu Bawumia claimed yesterday to have cut sod for construction work to begin on the 88 kilometer Hohoe- Jasikan to Dodo Pepesu stretch of the Eastern Corridor Road.
This is an exercise in mediocrity since the road was awarded and construction started by Rolider company in the erstwhile Mahama administration but for the directive of the corrupt president Akuffo Addo, the construction of that stretch of the road would have been completed in 2017.

The dishonest Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia must be ashamed of himself for his futile assurance to the residents of Oti Region that, his government would ensure the project is completed on schedule.

It was the same stretch of road that the NPP administration said it needed time to do rationalisation and after three and half years of auditing, nothing untoward has been detected. This is a delibrate attempt to prolong and to some large extent deny the good people of Oti Region from getting their roads fixed.

Under the Project Profile of the same project, the contract sum of 54  million US dollars is thievery and a clear avenue to looting the public purse contrary to their popular slogan of "protecting the public purse".

Also, the  contract period of 30 calendar months is deliberately fixed to hoodwink Ghanaians and for that matter the people of Oti Region into believing that, quality work will be done but in reality, they want to buy votes towards the said construction on that stretch of road.

The Vice president has indeed demonstrated his level of dishonesty characterized with insincerity  and undue delay in order to exchange such projects for votes in 2020 election.
It must be noted that, this is not the first time, this particular frozen road project was captured in the budget statement of the NPP government led by the inept, deceptive, nepotistic, insensitive and corrupt Akuffo Addo. In fact, the 2019 budget statement presented by same Mr. Ken Ofori Atta captured on page 147, paragraph 727 in table 23, Jasikan Dodo-Pepeso road as one of the roads to be constructed in 2019. The only modification done to this particular stretch of the road in 2020 budget was the reclassification of the project under sinohydro deal.

We need an immediate resumption for all  abandoned roads listed below, because they are also of major concern to the people in Oti and Volta Region.

Nkwanta- Kpassa, Nkwanta- Dambai,Peki through Kpeve-Hohoe roads that forms part of the Eastern Corridor Project. The rest include Atsito-Fiaxo road,Todome-Kpalime through Tangor -Dzemeni, Vakpo -Wusuta  Kpebe and a dual carriage roads from Sokode to Ho among, many others across the Volta and Oti Regions.

The sod cutting ceremony is a complete waste of state resources and should be a major concern to all well-meaning Ghanaians. The heavy burden taxes imposed on Ghanaians by the Akuffo Addo government must be put to good use and value for money must be attached to every step taken by this government.

The NDC is well positioned to fast track the completion of all the abandoned projects by the NPP when given the opportunity in 2020 to serve the good people of Ghana.

Oti Regional Working Visit of H.E John Dramani Mahama Was Successful

*Former President H.E John Dramani Mahama was on  a Working Visit to Oti Region*

The Flagbearer and the leader of the largest opposition party in Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama was on a 2 day working visit in Oti Region.

Some National Officers of the National Democratic Congress accompanied him through out his tour across the 8 Constituencies.

His first place of visit was at Kpassa, where he paid a courtesy call on Chiefs and some Opinion leaders at the Apostolic Church.
There was a fruitful deliberations.

He proceeded to Damanko and  on his way going, he paused and inspected an E- Block project initiated by the NDC government under his leadership to help bring education to the doorstep of the people which was abandoned by the insensitive  Government.

Banda was his next point of visit where he made a whistle stop at Kpandai amidst crowd and cheers. President Mahama is a *crowd puller* because i was indeed marvelled at the manner in which people were drawing closer and closer to him to listen to his message.

The NDC party is still attractive to the people and more importantly the grassroots who are determined to work very hard in order to bring back to power the Flagbearer of the party as President in 2020 and this was evidenced in his working visit at Banda.

A mini rally to simply put was organised at Kete- Krachi where JM and the General Secretary of the party took their turn to address the mammoth gathering and the new members who have left New Patriotic Party ( NPP) and  joined the National Democatic Congress (NDC).

H.E John Dramani Mahama assured them of a better and more promising future after his victory in 2020. The General Secretary and the Member of Parliament also admonished them to work very hard towards winning 2020 elections.

At Dambai which is the regional capital of Oti Region, H.E John Dramani Mahama paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and the elders as well as the Muslim community where they had a fruitful deliberations.

At the lorry park was the inauguration of the new Regional Executives Committee. Two cars were also presented to the  regional office of the  party in the Oti region for adminstrative and operations purpose.

The Flagbearer of the party encouraged party supporters to be united and work very hard for 2020 victory.

The Chairman of the party, Elder Ofosu Ampofo also encouraged the sympathizers and supporters of the party to continue to work very hard so as to make the party more attractive to the branches.

Nkwanta South was the next point of visit. As usual, the Flagbearer and his team paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and elders at Gateway which was followed by another courtesy call on the muslim community at the Central Mosque.

The final visit was at the market square and the lorry park. Market women including the yam sellers could not resist the temptations of seeing JM and his team. There was a popular chant, *"we need you back'*,  *"we need you back"* which clearly shows how Ghanaians are determined to vote massively for JM and NDC in 2020.

The Flagbearer and his team took their visit to Akan Constituency where a courtesy call was paid on the chiefs and elders followed by a call on the muslim community.

A program was organized at the station where H.E John Dramani Mahama and some party stalwarts took their turn to address the party faithfuls and the sympathizers of the party.

At Bodada, H.E John Dramani Mahama paid a courtesy call on the paramouncy of Buem traditional area.

At Biakoye Constituency, the Flagbearer and his team also paid a courtesy call on the traditional council in Abotoase. The chiefs and elders were not only happy but also prayed for H.E John Dramani Mahama to have a successful and fruitful journey as he embarks on his working visit across the region.

On a whole, the former President's tour was successful and reassuring as Ghanaians at the moment need a leader who appreciates the challenges confronting us as a country and a leader who can reliably offer the perfect antidotes to our challenges with actions and not the cheap unrealistic plagiarized slogans we hear on daily basis from the Akuffo Addo led government.
His return will definitely restore the enviable image of Ghana globally.

Incoming President, H.E John Dramani Mahama On a Working Visit to Oti Region

For Immediate release

*A CALL ON THE NPP DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS FOR OTI REGION AND HIS COHORTS TO DESIST FROM MISLEADING THE GOOD PEOPLE OF OTI REGION*

We have seen and read on many social media handles, a shameless, shallow and half-baked truth press release by the NPP Director of Communications in the Oti Region, Mr. Seidu Musah ; a man  we perfectly diagnosed of "Mahama Fever" ever since the notice of H.E John Dramani Mahama's visit to the Oti Region was echoed across the length  and breadth of the region.

Just for the records, H.E John Dramani Mahama is currently touring the Oti Region to get in touch with the inhabitants of the Region and transmit his message of hope to the people of the Oti Region who have been impoverished  over the past 20 months due to the harsh economic conditions the people are going through in the Region and the job losses suffered by the youth of this Region and those residing in other parts of this country following the collapse of Financial Institutions, Manufacturing companies, and many other businesses by the Akuffo Addo- Bawumia led government.

We in the NDC in the Region wish to assure all our brothers and sisters undergoing these economic tortures, a better future under the second coming of H.E John Dramani Mahama in 2020.

We have realized that, the NPP, having known that, they have failed the good people of the Oti Region has resorted to scoring cheap political goal with impunity.

It must be noted that, President John Dramani Mahama in his engagement with the people of Jasikan on the 18th of October 2016, assured the occupants of the Oti enclave now Oti Region of his intent commitment to create a new Region out of Volta Region in his next government while responding to an appeal made by the Paramount Chief of Buem Traditional Area, Nana Aburam Akpanja IV.
In fact, it was captured on www.graphic.com.gh on 19 October, 2016 that, the Paramount Chief of the Krachi Traditional Area, Nana Mprah Besemuna declared his support for the NDC manifesto to create five new regions and he (Nana) went further to state that, their agitation started as early as J.J Rawlings adminstration down to the NPP J.A Kuffuor administration at the time Mr. Akuffo Addo was the Attorney General and now president. So it can't be said that, the NPP is the only listening government to the people of Oti Region. We believe that, if H.E John Dramani Mahama had won the 2016 elections, Oti Region would have equally be created under his regime because he is a man of his words.

To state that, the NDC is against the creation of Oti Region is nonetheless an act of deliberate misrepresentation of facts by Mr. Seidu Musah and his likes.

It is on record that, the current NDC Regional Chairman, Hon. Gyapong Cudjoe has donated undisclosed amount of money, megaphones and fueled vehicles belonging to him and the NDC to be used to canvass for "YES VOTES" for the creation of the Oti Region.
We then asked, how can someone with a discerning mindset admit that, we are against the creation of the Oti Region?

Again, Mr. Seidu Musah should be reminded that, H.E John Dramani Mahama has donated not less than Ghc 50,000.00, the highest donation ever made in the creation of the new regions in support of the creation of Savannah Region and again, H.E John Dramani Mahama during the referenda voted in support of the creation of the Savannah Region which even became topical after he shown his "YES VOTE" to the general public at his polling station.
Is Mr. Seidu Musah aware of the aforementioned events leading to the creation of the new regions or is out of sheer hypocrisy that he is making those uninformed vituperations ?

It is however disappointing that, close to one year after the creation of the Oti Region, Government appointees still run the administrative works of the region in their vehicles booth for lack of office complex.

Free Education at all levels of Education in Ghana is guaranteed in the 1992 Constitution of Ghana under Article 25, hence we find it very absurd the praise singing by the Akuffo Addo government and their communicators like Mr. Seidu Musah for the haphazardly implemented "Free SHS".

Here again, we are reminding Mr. Seidu Musah and his "1 Day, 1 Fraud (1D1F) government of H.E John Dramani Mahama's commitment to make SHS progressively free which he started in the 2014/2015 academic year while at the same time constructing many classroom blocks, administrative blocks, dormitories and dining halls among other infrastructure developments in existing Senior High Schools to reduce the pressure the wholesale implementation of the Free education would put on the inadequate infrastructure existing prior to the coming into office of the NDC in 2009 and to ensure good academic performance of our wards at the SHS level.

It is also for this reason, the President, H.E John Dramani Mahama at the time started the construction of 200 Community Day Schools across the length and breath of the country out of which we have Nkwanta Community Day School and others which were built in the Oti Enclave now Oti Region which gave sustainable jobs to our people as teaching and non-teaching staff. Clearly, H.E John Mahama is a generational thinker and leader who has unquestionable foresight for the progress of the Oti Region.

Furthermore, one can not underestimate the inhumane and deceptive manner in which our brothers and sisters in the various Colleges of Education are being treated under this Akuffo Addo government .

The much touted "restored allowance" has turned into a mirage.
Evidence on the ground indicates that, the "restored allowance" is in arrears since the day Dr. Bawumia held the Restoration Ceremony at Accra College of Education.

Just recently at Nalerigu, the trainee nurses have poured out their frustrations and disappointments in the NPP government for failing to honor the 2016 campaign promises that made them voted for him and his league of nation looters and have strongly vowed to bring back the man with the nation at heart and with honesty to take over the helm of affairs.
Teacher Trainees who are supposed to be given direct postings have been compelled to undergo one year National Service with no assurance of automatic recruitment after their National Service. They have been made to undergo all these tortures just because they have voted for the deceptive Akuffo Addo.

Increments of Capitation grants remains on paper. Just last term, teachers in our basic schools in the 21st Century; have to set exam questions on backboards due to unreleased capitation grants while Mr. Akuffo Addo is gallivanting around claiming his government has increased capitation grants.

Also, every well meaning Ghanaian can attest to the fact that, the NPP government has done nothing to create more employment avenues for the teeming youth than to recruit party militias with no relative skills into key state institutions. A classical example is "Double' , the man at the centre of Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Bloody By-elections who now earns not less than Ghc 9,000.00 as compared to the highly qualified tertiary institution graduates who are compelled to enroll on the renamed YEA as NABCo recruits with a meagre Ghc697.00.

We again remind the NPP government through Mr. Seidu Musah to answer the people of Oti, the whereabouts of the "1 Village 1 Dam", "1 Million US Dollar per Constituency" among other lofty promises made to Ghanaians prior to his elections in 2016.

On the issues of uncompleted roads in the Oti Region, we still find it very absurd the complains by the NPP concerning road projects in the Oti Region which were forestalled by the NPP government since their inception on 7th January 2017.
The Eastern corridor road project which could open the region for serious economic empowerment has been halted for unfinished investigations into the award of the contract and the government through their communicators still finds it more convincing to direct all critics to the John Mahama led administration while in fact, these projects were halted by the NPP government due to their ineffectiveness, incompetence and insensitivity to the development of the Oti Region.

We are taken by surprise the NPP still want us to believe that, they have an iota of moral rights left in their history to talk about corruption in this press release.
In fact, CHRAJ a constitutionally mandated state institution empowered to investigate abuse of public office and corruption related issues has dismissed the said bribery allegation levelled against H.E John Dramani Mahama by the very journalist, Mr. Manasseh Awuni Azure who today under the NPP government is in exile for doing his job as a journalist that was once hailed by the NPP then in opposition. We dare the NPP Director of Communications to point to the portion of the CHRAJ report that indicts H.E John Dramani Mahama in the said case.
Once again, we want to reliably inform   Mr. Seidu Musah if up to now he is not aware of the fact that, the Ford Expedition in question is currently been used by elements of his party/ government who have surrounded the president at the Jubilee House.

We hereby refer Mr. Seidu Musah to the CHRAJ report and if there is any clause in that report which he finds difficult to comprehend, our doors are open for him to get educated on the said report.
We delight in helping our opponents who have fallen short of understanding issues of public interest after reading them, hence Mr. Seidu Musah and his cohorts are always welcome to our offices for further and better education on issues of this kind.

However, we take this opportunity to remind the NPP that, Oti Region has 8 districts and the "1 District , 1Warehouse promised the people of Oti Region is gradually turning into a mere slogan as usual under the Akuffo Addo government; enough of the rhetoric talks!
When it comes to Agriculture, the NDC has an impressive track record as compared to the NPP government. It is an established fact that, fertilizer for our farmers which used to be free under H.E John Dramani Mahama is now been sold to farmers at a price of Ghc90.00 per bag.  How can sale of fertilizer to farmers be an incentive to our farmers than Free fertilizer which were given to them?

In conclusion, the tour of the Former President and Flagbearer of the NDC sends shivers down the spine of the ruling government and its surrogates hence this move by the NPP communications Director to divert the attention of the public from the success of this tour.
